Conferences
THREE REGIONS, THREE CONFERENCES FOR A 21ST CENTURY METROPOLIS
In Montréal, over the past few years, once we examine all the projects designed with sustainable development in mind, whether small-scale or large-scale, and whether completed, nearly completed, or under assessment, we cannot help but marvel at the far-sightedness of Montréal mayor Gérald Tremblay and of our elected officials.
Through our regional conferences, Union Montréal seeks to demystify the notion of sustainable development. As a militant, you are invited to participate in either of the two workshops offered.
These workshops, taking place simultaneously, ought to help us realize, each in our own region, that our lifestyles affect society as a whole and, more pointedly, affect our community.
In order to achieve the goals outlined above we will explore, over the course of these conferences, two great themes relating to sustainable development:
- Towards a better management of our resources (transportation, biomethanation and composting, the Energy Fund, water consumption, etc.)
- Migratory dynamics
We also wish to cull your recommendations so that the projects that most concern you as Montréalers represent your true needs. Your views on the future of Montréal are also welcome. These recommendations will be tabled at the General Council on November 5th later this year.
You may obtain copies of the working documents for the workshops at the conference locations.
